Fractional test planning & validation

Serious validation discipline, without a full-time hire.

Calibre Programme Validation embeds the rigour of a senior test lead into your programme — one or two days a week. Forecast your testing demand, protect your rig capacity, and keep engineering, test operations and suppliers moving to a single plan.

Why Calibre

The validation discipline of a prime, sized for your team.

Smaller companies often carry ambitious hardware programmes without a dedicated senior planner. Deadlines slip because testing demand was never forecast, rigs and engineers clash at the worst moment, and no single plan holds the programme together. Calibre brings that missing discipline in on a fractional basis — enough senior attention to keep validation on track, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.

Sound familiar?

Four moments teams call. You may recognise one.

1

Just funded

The demonstrator deadline has gone from abstract to real — and the test programme is suddenly on the critical path.

2

It works on the bench

But proving it — to a customer, investor or grant assessor — is a different job, and not the team's core skill.

3

The plan exists, but…

Nobody's sure it holds. Scope, sequencing and lead times, checked by someone who's done it — while there's still time to change it.

4

Work's piling up

But a full-time validation lead can't be justified yet. The need is real — the headcount isn't the answer.

Service lines

Five ways Calibre keeps your programme on plan.

Engage the whole set as an embedded validation lead, or start with the one bottleneck that's hurting most.

01

Testing demand forecast

A rolling 12-month view of what needs testing and when — so capacity and budget decisions are made early, not in a scramble against the deadline.

02

Capacity planning

Test demand mapped against your rigs, engineers and facility slots, so bottlenecks surface weeks before they turn into slipped milestones.

03

Stakeholder alignment

Engineering, test operations and suppliers working to a single agreed plan — not three competing versions of the truth.

04

Programme delivery

Hands-on coordination across engineering, test ops and suppliers to keep validation moving and milestones intact — not just a plan on paper.

05

KPI reporting

Dashboards and reporting frameworks that give leadership and investors a clear, honest picture of validation progress and risk.

Not sure where to start?

Most engagements begin with a short demand-and-capacity baseline — it usually surfaces the risks worth acting on first.

Capacity planning

See the bottleneck weeks before it bites.

Testing demand rarely rises evenly — it spikes around milestones, while your rigs and engineers hold a fixed ceiling. Map one against the other and the crunch becomes visible early, when there's still time to re-sequence, add a slot or bring a supplier forward. That's the difference between a plan and a scramble.

Stakeholder alignment

Three teams. One plan.

Engineering, test operations and suppliers each hold a piece of the truth — and their own version of the schedule. Calibre pulls them into a single, agreed validation plan that everyone actually works to.

How it works

Fractional by design — one or two days a week.

You get senior test-planning discipline embedded in your programme on a light, predictable retainer. Enough to hold the plan together, without carrying the cost of a full-time hire.

01

Scope & baseline

Understand the programme, map current testing demand against real capacity, and surface the immediate risks.

02

Forecast & plan

Build the 12-month demand forecast and capacity plan, and align stakeholders around a single version.

03

Embed & deliver

Work inside the programme part-time, coordinating engineering, test ops and suppliers to keep it on track.

04

Report & steer

Give leadership clear KPI reporting so decisions — and course corrections — are made on evidence.

About Calibre

Test-planning discipline earned on a prime programme.

Calibre Programme Validation is an independent consultancy founded by Ranjeet, a test planning and validation specialist with three years leading powertrain test planning at Jaguar Land Rover, with a deep focus on power electronics and inverters.

Test-planning methodology travels well beyond any one component. The same discipline that de-risks an inverter validation programme — forecasting demand, protecting capacity, and holding stakeholders to one plan — applies wherever complex hardware has to be proven against a deadline.

Calibre exists to bring that discipline to smaller teams who need it but can't justify a full-time senior hire — as a trusted fractional partner, not a passing contractor.
